The Kyosho Ultima Pro Kit Legendary 1/10 4x2 is the 21st reissue of Kyosho's Vintage series. It revives the Ultima Pro, originally appearing in 1988, while benefiting from a design tailored to the current expectations of 2WD off-road enthusiasts (4x2).

A true evolution of the first-generation Ultima, which had won the 1987 World Championships, the Ultima Pro adopted at the time a competition-oriented design. This reissue carries on that philosophy with particularly complete equipment and the dimensions of the Ultima Pro XL model.

🏆 A heritage directly derived from competition

The original Ultima Pro stood out for numerous racing features: flat aluminum chassis, dual battery layout, FRP upper plate, front and rear pressure dampers, long shock travels, stabilizer bars, reverse-pitch tie rods, ball differential and rear universals.

The body had also been widened to fit this new chassis, giving the Ultima Pro a silhouette distinctly different from the original Ultima.

This new version preserves that racing spirit while benefiting from several evolutions derived from the 1989 XL model.

🔧 A chassis aluminum designed for precision

The chassis is made of 6061 aluminum formed by stamping. Its design allows using side-by-side or inline batteries, offering more possibilities to adjust mass distribution.

The stamped FRP upper deck completes the structure and contributes to the chassis rigidity while keeping the lightweight and responsive character typical of 2WD buggies.

The wheelbase is set to 280 mm, with widened front suspension arms, taking the dimensions and proportions of the Ultima Pro XL.

The Ultima Pro Legendary benefits from a particularly complete suspension package for a Vintage reissue:

The 4x2 propulsion drivetrain is one of the hallmark features of the Ultima Pro. The ball differential allows fine-tuning the transmission behavior, while the rear universal driveshafts ensure an efficient link between the differential and the wheels.

The package offers an ideal platform to relive the typical sensations of 2WD competition buggies.

📐 An evolution inspired by the Ultima Pro XL

In 1989, the Ultima Pro evolved toward a longer and wider version, generally known as the Ultima Pro XL.

This reissue adopts several features of this evolution, notably the widened front arms and the 280 mm wheelbase. It thus benefits from the XL model's proportions while preserving the identity and charm of the original Ultima Pro.

The front and rear stabilizer bars will be offered separately as an option, allowing everyone to evolve their buggy according to their needs.

Like any 1/10 competition kit, the Ultima Pro Legendary can be configured according to your preferences in electronics and motorization.

It is up to you to choose the equipment suited to your use: motor, speed controller, steering servo, receiver and battery.

With this new edition, Kyosho revives one of the most accomplished versions of the Ultima while preserving its historic character.

Its 6061 aluminum chassis, FRP structure, adjustable dampers, ball differential, universal transmissions and dimensions inspired by the Ultima Pro XL make it a particularly attractive base for Vintage enthusiasts as well as 2WD buggy fans.

The Kyosho Ultima Pro Kit Legendary is much more than a reissue: it’s the return of a true racing machine from the golden age of RC buggies. 🏆

Classic rear-wheel-drive 2WD buggy layout with a rear motor overhang. This re-release features a new aluminum main chassis, an FRP upper deck, and front and rear FRP shock towers.

Wide-type polycarbonate body featuring a completely refreshed look compared with the first-generation Ultima. Using the same mold as the original Ultima Pro, it faithfully recreates the distinctive style of the era.

The gold-anodized oil shocks faithfully reproduce the original design. Spring preload (ride height) adjustment is now made using a notched adjustment collar, replacing the original clamp system for easier and more precise setup. Fine Selection springs are included for both the front and rear.

The long FRP shock towers maximize suspension travel while effectively absorbing impacts from the track surface, ensuring consistent and controlled damping performance.

The long front lower suspension arms, inspired by the 1989 Ultima Pro, provide excellent road-holding performance. At the rear, toe adjustment is possible by changing the suspension bushings.

Turnbuckle tie rods allow quick and precise adjustment of toe and camber simply by rotating the rods, making setup changes fast and easy.

The battery can be mounted transversely using a standard round straight-type battery, or longitudinally. For the longitudinal configuration, a low-profile steering servo with a short front-to-rear length is required.

A ball differential is included as standard. It provides smooth cornering performance across a wide variety of surfaces.

The steering servo mounting orientation has been rotated 90° compared with the original Ultima Pro. The servo saver arm has also been redesigned to simplify the layout and provide a more progressive and linear steering response.

The universal rear driveshafts efficiently transfer motor power to the rear wheels while remaining securely in place, even under heavy impacts.

The new 2.2-inch tires use a Medium compound at the front and Soft compound at the rear to improve cornering stability and vehicle control over rough surfaces.

The new eight-hole wheels reproduce the offset of the original model. The rear wheels are also compatible with Optima-series offsets.

The original model's polycarbonate rear wing has been replaced with a flexible, crash-resistant nylon version. Resin wing stays further improve durability in the event of crashes.
