Jetko 1/8 buggy tires range and chart

- Categories : Reno's tutorials

Imported in France since March 2021, the new brand is already making a lot of noise in the RC cars industry!

Indeed, after more than ten years spent producing gums and tires for other brands on the market, the Jetko brand decided to launch under its own name.

By openly copying tires from big well-known brands like Proline, Jconcepts or AKA, and with their experience in the production and manufacture of rubber, Jetko can only provide you with the best possible quality / price ratio!

Indeed, the price is very attractive, for a high-end quality product. The tires are mounted and glued in the factory, no need to spend hours gluing the tires, with the risk of sticking your fingers or eyes!

They are delivered in a zipped bag, allowing you to store your tires for a long time while keeping all their freshness and performance.

The range offered by the French distributor is reduced, so as to offer only threads and compounds that work on our tracks in France and in Europe.

Dirt, multi-surface, dusty or abrasive, all conditions are covered by only 4 threads and 3 compounds!

In April 2022, Jetko released 2 new compounds, specially developed for flat, blue groove and often oiled tracks.

Called Composite Super Soft and Composite Soft.

In February 2024, the new tread is released, the J-One, for cleaned, oiled tracks.

The compounds

Red Compound: Ultra soft.

For temperatures below 10/15 ° C, or track conditions that do not heat the tires (dust, very low grip).

The softest rubber giving the most movement to the pins, generating the necessary grip in dust for example.

Orange Compound: Super soft.

For temperatures between 15 and 25 ° C, or tracks that are starting to be swept, with less dust.

The wear will be reduced compared to the Ultra Soft compound, and the tire will be held better, thus giving more precision to your car.

Green Compound: Soft.

For temperatures above 25 ° C, or high grip track.

This rubber will have the least wear, and is particularly recommended for tracks with a lot of synthetic surface (astro, wood, cobblestones etc.)

Super soft composite rubber (double orange dots).

For temperatures below 10/15°C on oiled tracks and/or with synthetic coating (wood, cobblestones, etc.). Or if the track is slippery outside these temperatures.

Soft Composite rubber (double green dots).

For temperatures above 15°C on oiled tracks and/or with synthetic coating (wood, cobblestones, etc.).

Above 20°C, we advise you to choose a traditional rubber (Super Soft or Soft) and not the Composite rubber.

Wet rubber (gold dot)( Positive and Red Devil )

For temperatures below 10°C ! On wet and/or low grip tracks.

If the track is dry or the temperature is higher than 15°C, then the tire wear will be increased!

Threads patterns

Sting

Pneu Jetko Sting

The Sting tire was designed to fit between Block-in and Lesnar.

When you have a grooved but slightly dusty track, or need limited wear due to a deep abrasive surface.

The size and spacing of the pins have been adjusted to give more room to remove dust from the tread. The pins are still tight enough on the carcass to give it minimal wear.

(similar to Jconcepts Stalkers)

Block-in

Pneus Jetko Block-in

Revolutionary tread design features large knobs for extended life and heavy traction. The side pins have been brought closer together to make the car easier and more predictable.

This tire will give your 1/8 buggy the speed of a qualifying tire, with a lifespan capable of holding a one hour final. (similar to Proline Blockade)

Dirt Slinger

Pneus Jetko Dirt Slinger

The Dirt Slinger features a tread pattern with large and tall pins, which will work on just about any off-road track.

Particularly comfortable in dust or bumps, it is the easiest tire in the range. (similar to AKA Ibeam)

Lesnar

Pneus Jetko Lesnar

The Lesnar was developed to be the most durable racing tire ever produced while being fast and precise.

The low and tight pins of the Lesnar give it unparalleled traction, while having the lowest wear. It is particularly effective on abrasive or cleaned/grooved tracks.

(Similar to Proline Fugitive)

Red Devil

Pneus Jetko Red Devil

The Red Devil tire was designed specifically for flat (often oiled) and low grip tracks.

It has a pattern of small studs in the shape of diamonds and tight triangles so that you can have the maximum surface of rubber in contact with the ground.

The tread is wider than other Jetko tires.

Each diamond pin is split in half on the tread for added flexibility and grip on even the smoothest, slippery surfaces.

J-Zero

Jetko Jzero

To design the NEW "J-Zero", Jetko engineers studied the best of the best and analyzed the performance of the most efficient tires on low grip tracks.

Hours of testing were conducted, primarily on the best European tracks, to understand how our competitors' tires performed.

It quickly became apparent that the challenge was to achieve a highly flexible tread by creating many deformation zones and avoiding designs that offered too much rigidity.

At the same time, the sidewalls were redesigned to achieve controlled deflection. This means that the sidewalls are slit to avoid interfering with carcass deformation and that spaced zones multiply the deformation zones.

The internal structure of the tire is also new to prevent ballooning from deforming the contact patch with the ground, which improves the consistency of the tire.

Without a miracle, the design looks like the most effective tires on these surfaces, with a sculpted sidewall, wide side blocks that contribute to precision, split diamond lugs and diamond lug blocks.

The J-Zero will be perfect on wet tracks with cold, wet rubber or on dry, low-grip tracks with traditional rubber.

J-One

Pneus Jetko JOne

A world premiere with the first 1/8 buggy tire designed to perform just as well on electric vehicles thanks to its flexible belt!

Jetko recognizes the excellent performance of "Bar" type tires (HotRace Sahara, Proline Positron, Jconcepts Ellipse...) but has also identified a problem of rapid wear when used with today's nitro-powered cars or high-torque electric cars!

In order to provide the best solution/performance for heavier/ more powerful brushless electric buggies, Jetko undertook the task of developing a tire that also meets the specific needs of these machines.

The most innovative aspect of their design is the introduction of the first lightweight belt carcass. This innovation was necessary to control deformation and limit the tire's ballooning under heavy acceleration.

As a result, the tire centrifuges very little on corner exits, eliminating the need for lifted bodies and loss of traction!

In short, Jetko's approach to designing a tire that can also be used on electric cars was to balance performance with tire wear and to maintain tire stability.

Usage Chart

Looking for the best profile for your track?

Our usage chart will allow you to easily find the right thread pattern and the right compound in all conditions.

The score of 1 to 3 points provides information on the adaptation of the tire to the track.

For example, if the track is dusty, the Ultra soft rubber with Sting will perform particularly well, as will the Dirt Slinger.

On the other hand, the Dirt Slinger will not be suitable for "blue groove" swept tracks, for lack of precision with these high pins.
