REDS Racing 721 Superveloce™ GEN5

REDS Racing is proud to introduce the 721 Superveloce™ GEN5, the most accomplished and refined evolution of the Superveloce platform in its 5th generation.

The GEN5 is the result of targeted development focusing on the internal fluid dynamics, the crankshaft timing and the piston sleeve assembly, as well as the introduction of a new 9 mm carburetor, with a clear objective: increase power without increasing fuel consumption.

Performance is up, while range remains strictly identical to that of the original Superveloce, a long-recognized benchmark for efficiency.

Key technical evolutions of the GEN5

Optimized internal fluid dynamics

The redesigned internal millings improve the quality of the air/fuel mix and the stability of combustion. The result is a more fluid power delivery, a faster throttle response, and extremely consistent performance over long distances.

Revised crankshaft timing and cylinder

The crankshaft and the transfer timing have been completely redesigned and optimized to:

• Increase performance at mid- and high RPM ranges
• Offer a higher maximum power
• Maintain excellent ease of handling
• Maintain fuel consumption identical to that of the original Superveloce

More performance, with no compromise on consumption.

New 9 mm carburetor

The GEN5 introduces a new carburetor with a 9 mm bore, designed to:

• Increase overall engine performance
• Facilitate and stabilize tuning
• Offer a wider and more forgiving carburation range

As a result, the engine is significantly easier to tune. Performance can still be optimized thanks to larger venturis, up to 8.5 or 9.0 mm, depending on the layout and track conditions.

One engine, two classes

The 721 Superveloce GEN5 is designed to cover 1/8 Buggy and Truggy applications with a single powerplant platform, thus simplifying the choice for drivers competing in multiple categories.

Full DLC configuration: crankshaft and rear cover

The 721 Superveloce GEN5 adopts a fully DLC configuration, combining a Black Diamond DLC crankshaft with a traditional DLC rear backplate.

This solution guarantees excellent reliability, a reduction in friction and better cost control, without compromising performance. The traditional DLC rear crankcase has demonstrated exemplary robustness and consistency in all race conditions.

The RTX rear backplate remains available as an option for pilots seeking a different power feel or an even more precise setup, depending on the track and driving style.

Optional components

To keep a high-performance base engine ready for competition:

• The Airboost and RTX rear covers are available as options
• The 11-fin cooling head for high temperatures is offered as an option

This modular approach allows pilots to tailor the engine configuration precisely to the circuit, climate, and their driving style.

• Spark plug: REDS TS4
• Exhaust system: 2143 X-ONE
• Fuel: 16 to 30% nitro, 8 to 10% oil (shimming will have to be adjusted for more than 16% nitro fuel)
• Break-in fuel: 12% oil
