Recon 1/8 Jconcepts tires

Dipping into its new bag of tricks, JConcepts had the vision and created a new tire for the 2022 racing season.

The Recon works and behaves like many other tires on the market by using a horizontal design that works more in a flapping, paddling motion.

The horizontal bars are grouped in diamond shapes and offset to produce free areas for dust to escape. When assembled, the empty sections appear as large X-shaped spaces repeated throughout the tire carcass.

The directional features of the sidewalls come together in one direction, offering an option for how the tire is presented on the track surface.

Inside the carcass, traditional radial ribs offer resistance to tire expansion, while the continuous shape and contour are fluid and consistent. The heart of this tire lies in the construction of the studs and the way the exclusive compounds apply them to the racing surface. The flexible nature of the studs gives it unrivalled traction in dusty conditions. 

Recon tires are packaged with JConcepts Dirt-Tech inserts known for their gray color, durable nature and success on the racetrack.

The tires are available in three different rubber compounds, Green (Super Soft), Blue (Soft), and Aqua (A2, long wear medium soft).

The Recon tire is already a winner in the hands of Dakotah Phend (2022 ROAR National Champion), and Ryan Maifield (2023 Dirt Nitro Challenge Champion). The elite duo were extremely impressed by the tire's versatility, using it on a wide range of surfaces, from hard, bumpy conditions to wet ones.
