Optional part for RC8B4.1|B4.1e Team Associated.

Spring length 68mm, for 16mm shock absorbers, 8.5 turns, wire diameter 1.5mm.

The Associated team is launching a new range of 1.50mm (1.5D) wire springs to tune the RC8B4.1 for the ungroomed and bumpy tracks encountered, for example, at the DNC and Silver State (bumpy tracks).

As part of the ongoing 1:8 scale development, the team noticed that the current range of 1.6mm wire springs worked well on a fast, high grip circuit, but struggled to provide consistent grip on ungroomed tracks.

Changing the wire diameter to 1.5mm gives the spring a different natural frequency and stress on the wire, so it can more easily compress and conform to the track surface in lower grip conditions. Combined with new softer rates at the front and rear, the new spring range is ideal for raw surfaces where traction is very low.

The front and rear springs have been shortened compared to the previous kit (front springs from 70mm to 68mm and rear springs from 86mm to 83mm in length) in order to optimise the assembly with the new lower RC8B4.1 shock towers.

The 68mm front springs fit the 16mm shock absorbers on the RC8B4.1, RC8B4 and older models.

Front and rear springs are tightly grouped with a 0.25 coil variation for fine-tuning of rate to grip levels, making them ideal for dusty conditions to achieve better traction and handling.

All 1.5D springs are colour-marked at both ends to distinguish them from 1.6D springs (colour-marked at one end only).
