AKA tyres chart

Choosing the right 1/8 Off-road tire is never easy. Indeed, 80% of the overall tuning setup of your car can be achieved with the right choice of profile or rubber for good track conditions.

This AKA tire usage table will allow you to easily choose between the different profiles and compounds of the American AKA range.

Treads

AKA Impact

The impact will be the most versatile profile, which will allow you to learn the track for all conditions in general.

AKA Component

The components 2AB will be very close to the Impact, but its carcass being softer, it will be more forgiving and your car will be easier to drive in bumpy conditions.

AKA Ibeam AKA Crossbrace

The ibeam and the crossbrace are formidable in dusty conditions.

AKA Typo

Typos will be your best bet for oily surfaces or indoor tracks.

AKA Pone

If the track is polished, flat with no dust, Pone will be the fastest tyre. Also if the track is wet and the mud is sticking to the tyre, we will choose the P-one for it's lower tread pattern.

AKA Zipps AKA double down

When the grip increases, you can turn to the Double down or the Zipps, which will have greater precision and less wear.

The compounds

In terms of compounds, we recommend Longlife (or called Longwear), for more longevity and reduced wear.

If the temperature is very low (less than 5°C), or the grip very low, prefer the Ultra soft rubber.

If the temperature is between 5°C and 15°C, or the grip is low, you can use the Super Soft rubber.

If the temperature is between 15°C and 25°C, or the grip medium, you can use the Soft rubber.

Finally, if the temperature is high or the grip is very important, choose Medium rubber, which will be the hardest and the most durable over time in terms of wear.
